Where metal is muse, and every detail matters.

De Winter Metalworks is a premium fabrication studio specializing in custom brass work, made-to-order shower systems, and expressive architectural details. Founded by Martin De Winter and operated alongside his wife, Margaux, the studio is built on a shared belief: that metal should be as emotive as it is exacting.

Since 2017, De Winter has redefined what metalwork can be—less utility, more sculpture. Every piece is approached with curiosity, guided by artistic integrity, and crafted with a rare mix of old-world technique and modern precision.

From bold installations to quiet, functional moments, we partner with architects, designers, and dreamers who value form, materiality, and meaning. Whether you arrive with a fully fleshed-out spec or a sketch on a napkin, we’ll meet you where you are and take it further than you thought possible.

We work with a range of metals including steel, stainless steel, aluminum, brass, bronze, and copper. Our finish options vary by material, offering flexibility for each project. On brass, we specialize in patina, polished unlacquered, nickel plating, and chrome plating. Stainless steel can be finished with powder coat or patina, while steel can also be treated with patina to achieve a rich, aged effect.

Martin & Margaux De Winter

At the helm of the studio are Martin and Margaux De Winter, who together shape a practice that balances craft, vision, and precision.

Martin leads with a sculptor’s eye and a fabricator’s hands, bringing over a decade of experience exploring the intersection of technique, texture, and storytelling. Raised in the Belgian countryside and informed by Bauhaus principles, he approaches each project with reverence for materials and a relentless attention to the details most overlook. His work elevates metal from structural to soulful, always pushing the boundaries of form.

Margaux, Director of Design & Operations, is the studio’s backbone - equal parts strategist, conductor, and client advocate. She combines clear-eyed practicality with emotional intelligence, guiding complex projects from first sketch to final installation. Rooted in her European background and creative sensibility, she brings warmth, levity, and sharp aesthetic insight to every collaboration.
Together, Martin and Margaux co-lead the studio and its experimental arm, As Bold As Brass—a space for bold design and creative exploration.

Their partnership is built on contrast and complement: material obsession balanced by operational clarity, technical rigor paired with human connection. The result is work that is both ambitious and deeply considered.
